Hello Wise Writers! Today’s poem is going to be about family as well. This poem is about my mom. My mom has always struggled with her body and had insecurities about her body. I wrote this poem to showcase how I view her insecurities. I hope this inspires you. I’m looking forward to all of you reading it. This poem is called How I Picture Your Insecurities.
How I Picture Your Insecurities
The stomach that you hate carried 4 beautiful babies.
You carried us in the arms that you critique.
The legs that you dislike walked miles to rescue us from danger.
God counted each hair on your head that you don’t like.
God gifted you with a beautiful body that is amazing and works well.
He calls you fearfully and wonderfully made.
The face that you cover in makeup has kissed so many babies cheeks.
The sun has hit your face and you shine bright.
Your eyes have seen beautiful sunsets, stars, and the moon.
Your ears have heard praises of what a great mom you are and teachings of the Bible.
Your hands have made homemade dishes that we cherish.
Your mouth has tasted great cuisine.
The nose you think is too big has smelled your mom’s homemade cooking and the scent of candles.
Be nice to your body. A part of it is on each and every one of our bodies.
